Westend Auto Agency

Chandni Chowk is always a mess of people and carts. Our place, Westend Auto Agency, is in Katra Ashraff at number 579. It is a very narrow street and the sunlight barely reaches the ground. We have boxes of auto parts stacked all the way to the ceiling. You have to know exactly where everything is or you will never find it. We spend our day answering questions and pulling parts from the shelves. The air smells like oil and old cardboard. It is a busy spot and we don't have much room to move around. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit when there are no customers. Most of the time we are standing. The buildings here are very old and the walls are thick. We hear the shouts of the rickshaw pullers all day long. Sometimes we share a meal with the guys from the next shop over. We have been here for a long time and the routine never really changes. We get the parts in and we send them out. There is no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit. It is a practical place for people who need parts for their cars or bikes. We handle the inventory and keep track of the bills in a thick binder. It is just another day in Katra Ashraff for us.
