National Automobiles

We’re located at 1366/21 on Hari Singh Nalwa Street in Karol Bagh. It’s a crowded spot, even for this neighborhood. We deal in all sorts of automobile parts and accessories. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling, and I’m the only one who really knows where the smaller bits are hidden. We don’t have a computer system that tells us exactly what’s in stock; we just remember. It gets a bit dusty in here because of all the traffic outside, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the counters. We aren't a big chain store with matching shirts. Usually, I’m just wearing whatever was clean that morning. We get a lot of regular mechanics coming in who know exactly what they want, so we don't have to explain much. We keep a pot of tea going in the back for when friends drop by. The street is so narrow that the delivery trucks can barely get through, which makes mornings a bit of a headache. But we’ve been here so long that we don’t really think about moving. We like the energy of Karol Bagh. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the new car models coming out, but we try our best to keep the right parts on hand. It’s just a simple shop where we work hard and hope for a good day tomorrow.
