Saroj Interiors Pvt. Ltd. is based at C-5 in the Patparganj Functional Industrial Area. As the name says, it’s an industrial area, so don’t expect anything fancy. There’s always the sound of machines or hammers nearby. Our space is more of a workshop than a typical office. We have samples of wood and metal lying around, and the floor usually has a bit of sawdust on it. It’s where the actual work happens. We’ve been in Patparganj for years and we know the other shop owners on the block. We don't have a fancy showroom with spotlights. If you want to see what we do, you just look at what’s currently on the workbench. It’s a noisy, busy place. We spend a lot of time measuring things and shouting to be heard over the fans. Saroj Interiors is a family-run kind of thing, even if it’s a private limited company on paper. We don't have a marketing guy or a salesperson. We just show people what we’ve made and let them decide. The tea here is always strong because we need it to stay awake during the long shifts. It’s honest work in a grit-and-grime kind of neighborhood. We like it that way. No one wears a tie here. We just wear what’s comfortable and get our hands dirty every single day. We are usually here late into the evening making sure everything is done right.
