We are based in the Motia Market area of Motia Khan. It’s a place where everyone knows everyone else. The business has been around for quite some time, passed down a bit. We handle various hardware and steel items, mostly stuff that the local contractors need. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling, so it takes a bit of time to find things if you aren't familiar with our system. We don't use computers much; most things are written down in a big ledger we keep on the desk. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. The market is always crowded, especially on Monday mornings when everyone is starting their weekly projects. We usually have tea a few times a day and chat with the neighbors. It’s more of a community than just a place of business. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the area, just reliable. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit near the back door, but we put some buckets down and it’s fine. We don't wear uniforms or anything like that, just regular clothes that we don't mind getting a bit dirty. It’s a lot of lifting and carrying, but it keeps us fit. If you need something for a repair or a small build, we probably have a piece of it somewhere in the back piles. Usually we close up around six when the light starts to go, as the bulbs in the back aren't very bright.
