Down on Nicholson Road near Mori Gate, that’s where we keep things moving. Dealing with earth movers and heavy machinery is a loud and dirty business. Our office at No. 3474 is right in the thick of it. Mori Gate is always buzzing with trucks and parts being moved around. We spend our time managing the machines and making sure they are out at the sites where they belong. It’s a lot of logistics and maintenance work. If a machine breaks down, it’s a big problem, so we spend a lot of time on the phone with mechanics. The air around here is usually thick with dust and the sound of engines, but we’re used to it. We aren't the type to sit in a clean office all day; we’re often out checking on the equipment. Our hands usually have a bit of grease on them. We’ve been running this for years and we know the machines inside and out. It’s a tough job and the hours are long, especially when we have to get equipment to a site before sunrise. We don't have a PR person or a fancy logo. We just have our reputation for showing up and getting the dirt moved. It’s honest, hard work that keeps the city building, and we’re glad to be a small part of that. Some days are exhausting, but seeing a site cleared is a good feeling.
