Mittal Metal Works

Mittal Metal Works is based out of Karol Bagh Model Basti, right on East Park Road 65. If you come by, you’ll likely hear us before you see us. There’s almost always the sound of metal being cut or hammered. It’s a noisy business, and the air always smells a bit like iron and dust. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and the floor is stained with all sorts of things from the years of work. We don't have a fancy front office. You just walk right into the middle of where the work happens. There are stacks of metal sheets leaning against the walls and tools scattered across the benches. It’s hard to keep it tidy when there’s so much going on. We work on all kinds of metal parts, mostly for local builders and people who need something sturdy made. The heat from the welding can be tough in the peak of summer, so we take a lot of breaks under the old ceiling fan. We know the other shop owners on East Park Road pretty well. We often trade stories over a quick lunch. It’s a gritty, hands-on job, and we usually go home with dirty hands and tired backs. We don’t use any high-tech gadgets, just the same reliable machines we’ve had forever. It’s just us, some heavy metal, and a lot of hard work every day at number 65.
