Metal Udyog

We have been operating out of Paharganj on Deshbandhu Road at number 4 for a long time. The building is old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that. It’s a metal shop, so it’s naturally quite dirty and loud. We deal in all kinds of iron and steel pieces. The traffic outside is constant and the horns never seem to stop. Inside, it’s a bit dark, but we know where every pile of stock is located. We don't have any managers or fancy titles here. Everyone just rolls up their sleeves and helps out with the unloading. Sometimes we get a lot of scrap metal that needs to be sorted through, which takes forever. We don't have any big mission or anything. We just buy what we can and sell it to whoever needs it for their construction projects. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to this street for years. We eat our lunch together on some old wooden crates. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we've always done. We don't use much technology, just a simple scale and some old notebooks. It’s a straightforward way to run a shop in a busy city area.
