M. R. Engineering Works

M. R. Engineering Works is located at Plot No. 50 in the Anand Parbat Industrial Estate. To get to us, you have to head up to the first floor on Street No. 6. It’s right by the railway line site, so you can always hear the trains passing by throughout the day. The sound becomes like background noise after you’ve worked here for a few months. Being in an industrial estate means there is always something going on—trucks loading, people shouting across the street, and the smell of metal and oil in the air. Our workshop is usually quite busy with different jobs. We have some heavy machinery and benches where the real work happens. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but that’s because we are actually making things and fixing parts. You’ll see iron shavings on the floor and tools scattered where they were last used. We don't have a big front office or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll probably find one of us with grease on our hands or checking a measurement. We’ve been at this street for years. The neighbors are mostly other workshops doing similar metal work. It’s a tight-knit spot where everyone knows each other’s business. We just keep our heads down and get through the list of tasks for the day. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do here in Anand Parbat.
