Dehar Engineering Works

Anand Parbat is a maze, and Galli Number 7 is no different. You have to look for 7/18B to find Dehar Engineering Works. It is a tight squeeze in these lanes. We’ve been tucked away here for years now. The shop is filled with tools that have seen better days but still do the work they are supposed to. We spend most of our time bent over workbenches or checking the lathes. My hands are usually stained with grease that doesn't really come off anymore. That is just part of the deal when you work in engineering. We don't have any fancy reception area. If someone comes by, they usually just walk right into the middle of the work. It can get pretty hot in the summer because the ventilation isn't the best, but we make do with a couple of pedestal fans. The floor is concrete and it’s taken a beating over the years. We mostly deal with local orders and people we’ve known for a long time. There is always a pile of scrap metal in the corner waiting to be moved. We don’t talk about big goals or anything. We just want to finish the parts correctly and move to the next thing. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy from morning until the lights go out at night.
