Geeta Sales

Our shop is in Anand Parbat, specifically Gali No 3, house number 14. If you know the area, you know how narrow the lanes are and how many small businesses are packed in here. Geeta Sales is a small operation. We focus on selling various items that local workshops and individuals need. The shop is basically a room filled with shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. We have to use a ladder to reach the stuff at the top. It is usually a bit dark inside because the buildings are so close together, so we keep the lights on all day. There is no air conditioning, just a pedestal fan that we move around depending on where we are sitting. We spend the day talking to people who come in looking for specific sizes or parts. Sometimes we don't have exactly what they want, so we have to see if we can get it from another supplier in the next lane over. We keep our records in thick notebooks because it is easier than using a computer for everything in this dust. There is always a layer of grit on the counter by the end of the day from the street outside. We aren't doing anything special, just opening up every morning and helping the people who find their way to our door through the maze of the market.
