Duke Metals

The shop is located right on Chuna Mandi Road in Paharganj at number 2758/6. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets with all the people and rickshaws moving around. Duke Metals is basically a place where we handle different kinds of metal pieces all day long. It’s a small space, so we have to stack things carefully to make sure we can actually walk through the middle. We spend a lot of time sorting through materials and making sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when a big truck comes to drop off stuff because the road is so narrow. We’ve had neighbors complain about the noise once or twice but that’s just the sound of metal moving. Most of our day is spent talking to people who come in looking for specific parts or sizes. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and moving things around by hand mostly. We don’t have a website or anything like that because we prefer just talking to people face to face. The walls of the shop are a bit worn out and the floor is scratched from all the heavy loads, but it works for us. We open up early and stay until the sun goes down. It’s a simple business and we like it that way. We just keep busy with the metal and the daily work that comes through the door.
