We’ve been tucked away here in Anand Parbat for a long time now. If you walk down towards 1016/342-A, you’ll hear the noise before you see the sign. It’s mostly just us working with steel all day. The floors are usually covered in metal shavings and the air smells like oil and iron. We don’t have a fancy office or anything like that. It’s a workshop through and through. My father started this and now we just keep it going, cutting and shaping whatever needs doing for the local projects around Delhi. Some days are slow and we just sit around the tea stall nearby, but usually, it’s busy with trucks trying to navigate these narrow lanes. It’s a tough spot to get into with a big vehicle, but we manage. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here, just basic steel work that people need. The machines are old but they still run fine if you know how to kick them into gear. People come to us because they know we are right here in the industrial area and we don’t move around. It gets hot in the summer, especially with the furnaces and the sun hitting the roof, but that’s just how it is working in Anand Parbat. We just focus on the job at hand and try to get the dimensions right so nobody wastes any material. It’s a simple life for us here among the metal piles.
