Akansha Exports

Finding us at 891, Gali Chandi Wali in Pahar Ganj can be a bit of a challenge if you aren't used to these narrow streets. Akansha Exports has been tucked away in this lane for quite some time now. It is a very lively part of Delhi, with tourists and rickshaws constantly moving past the door. Inside our space, things are usually a bit cluttered with cardboard boxes and rolls of packing tape. We do a lot of exporting, so there is always something being wrapped or labeled for a long trip across the ocean. The light in the lane isn't great, but we have some bright bulbs inside so we can see what we are doing. Working in Pahar Ganj means you are never really in a quiet spot. There is always someone shouting or a bike bell ringing right outside. We handle a lot of different goods, and the inventory changes depending on the month and what people are asking for. Some days are just spent waiting for a truck to arrive, which can take forever if the main roads are blocked. We sit on plastic chairs and drink chai while we wait, talking about the news or the weather. It is a simple setup without any fancy decorations or a big lobby. We just focus on getting the crates packed right and making sure the addresses are written clearly so nothing gets lost once it leaves our small spot in the gali.
