Rudra Metal Finisher

Our workshop, Rudra Metal Finisher, is situated on the Dhanbad Purulia Road. If you know where the Chas Gurudwra is, we are right near there. It’s a busy road with a lot of heavy vehicles passing by at all hours. We’ve been set up here in Chas for some time now. Our main thing is metal finishing, which basically means we spend all day polishing, coating, or cleaning up metal parts. It’s dirty work and very loud because of the grinders and the polishing wheels. By the end of the shift, we’re usually covered in dust, but that’s just part of the trade. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a plain building with a big door. Inside, it’s a different story with sparks flying and the smell of hot metal everywhere. We don't have a big front office or any secretary to answer the phones. Usually, the phone just rings until one of us can wipe our hands and pick it up. We take in work from all over the area, sometimes just one-off pieces for a local guy and sometimes bigger crates of stuff. The weather gets pretty hot in Chas, and the shop doesn't have much in the way of cooling, so we drink a lot of water. We just focus on getting the finish right so the parts don't rust or look bad. It’s what we do and we’ve been doing it for years.
