Running Rakshak Agency here in Chas keeps us pretty busy from morning until evening. It’s a small operation, mostly just a few of us handling the paperwork and making sure the schedules are set. We don’t have a big fancy office with glass walls; it’s more of a functional space where the chairs don't always match and the filing cabinets are getting a bit full. Chas is a busy place, and we’ve seen it grow quite a bit over the years. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or coordinating with people who come by to talk about their needs. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to sit there and wait or work by the light from the door. It’s just the reality of how things go here. We don’t try to make it sound like more than it is. We handle the tasks that come across our desks, whether it’s sorting through applications or checking on our staff out in the field. The floor needs a sweep pretty often because of the grit people bring in from the street. We usually keep a kettle going for tea because the days can get long and a hot drink helps. It’s a steady kind of life, focused on the details and making sure nobody misses their shift. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the agency running properly and making sure the work gets done like it’s supposed to every day.
