Holcim India - Acc Limited

We are located up at the Gagal Cement Works in Barmana, which is in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. It’s quite a spot, surrounded by the hills, and the air is a bit different up here than in the big cities. We handle the ACC Limited side of Holcim India at this facility. It’s a big site, so there is always something going on, trucks coming and going, and the sound of the machinery in the distance. We’ve been part of the landscape here for a long time. People around Barmana know the works well. It’s not the kind of place you’d visit for a tour, it’s a working site through and through. Our daily routine involves keeping an eye on the production and making sure the cement is ready for distribution across the state and beyond. It can be hard work, especially when the weather in Himachal gets a bit rough in the winter or during the heavy rains, but the crew here is used to it. We don't have fancy meeting rooms; we mostly talk shop in the corridors or out on the floor. It’s a very hands-on environment. Most of us have lived in the area for years, so we know the roads and the people. We just focus on making sure the plant runs smoothly and that the quality stays where it needs to be for the builders who rely on us. It is just the way we do things here.
