Acc Limited

Our setup is located in Barmana, which is in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. Being up here in the hills changes the way you work. Things move a bit differently than they do in the big cities. We are part of the mining department for Acc Limited. Sanjeev Soni is the deputy manager here and he keeps things running on the ground. The post office is right in Barmana, so getting mail is easy enough. The views of the mountains are probably the best part of the day, though we spend most of our time looking at maps and equipment schedules. It’s a dusty environment because of the mining, but that is expected. We wear our boots every day. The office isn't anything special to look at. It's mostly just some desks, a few chairs, and a lot of logbooks. We drink a lot of chai to stay warm when the weather turns cold in the winter months. The roads around here can be tricky with the trucks coming and going all the time. You have to be careful driving. We’ve been part of this community for a long time. People around Barmana know us and we know them. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don't do much in the way of ceremonies or big meetings. We just get the job done and head home when the shift is over. It’s a long day but the air is fresh.
