Way up here in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, you'll find the Acc Gagal Cement Works. Our specific location is Jsq-51 within the works themselves. Being in the mountains makes the job a bit different than it would be down in the plains. The air is thinner and the roads are definitely more winding, which makes transporting cement quite an adventure sometimes. We’ve been a part of the landscape here for a long time. It’s a big site, and there is always something going on, whether it's maintenance or keeping the production lines moving. The people who work here are mostly from the surrounding villages in Himachal. We’re a tight-knit group because we spend so much time together in this remote spot. Our offices are functional and simple, mostly filled with maps, production charts, and the smell of strong coffee. We don't do things with a lot of fanfare. It’s more about the steady hum of the machinery and the trucks coming and going from the yard. The weather can be a real factor for us, with the rains and the cold, but the work doesn't stop. We just put on our jackets and keep at it. It’s a tough environment, but there’s a sense of satisfaction in knowing the cement we produce here goes out to build roads and homes all across the region. We just take it one day at a time, making sure each shipment is ready for the long journey down.
