Up here in Barmana, the Gagal Cement Works is a pretty big part of the scenery. We’re specifically based in the MIPS department, which sounds technical but it’s really just us working in an office in the middle of these Himachal hills. Being in Bilaspur district means we get some nice views, though mostly we’re looking at computer screens and stacks of reports. Acc Limited has a long history in this village. You can hear the sounds of the plant in the distance, which is just something you get used to. It's a bit of a trek to get up here sometimes, but the local folks know the way to Vill. & P.O. Barmana well. We don't have a lot of corporate polish. The walls might need a fresh coat of paint and the chairs aren't the newest, but it's a comfortable place to get things done. We deal with the day-to-day stuff that keeps the Gagal works running. It’s quiet in the mornings before everyone arrives, and then it stays busy until the sun goes down behind the mountains. We don’t spend time on big speeches or fancy goals. We just handle the tasks that come through the MIPS department. It’s a practical way of working. Most of us have been around here for years, so we know the rhythm of the place. It’s just how things are done in our part of H.P. with the 174013 zip code.
