Viddhvanje Farmer Producer Company Limited is located right on Gandhi Marg, in Gali Number 1 over in Khachraud. It’s right here in the Ujjain district. Most people around here know us as the local guys who work the land. We decided to set up this company so we could have a bit more say in how our crops are sold. Usually, you just take what the middleman gives you, but we wanted to try a different way. It’s hard work, and there are many days when things don't go exactly as planned. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Madhya Pradesh; we just want to look after the farmers in our own neighborhood. Khachraud is a good place for farming, but it takes a lot of effort to keep things running. Our office is just a plain spot where we keep our records and meet up after the day's work is finished. We talk about the crops, the pests, and the prices. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do because it’s just farming at the end of the day. We help each other out with equipment or advice when someone is having a tough season. It’s a community effort more than anything else. We are just local people trying to make a living from the ground.
