Tesla Transformers Ltd.

Out here in the Govindpra Industrial Area, at 30 B, things stay pretty noisy. Tesla Transformers Ltd. has been operating from this spot for a good bit now. We deal with transformers, which means there’s always a lot of heavy metal and copper wire laying around the shop floor. It’s dusty work, and our hands are usually stained with oil or grease by the end of the shift. The heat in the industrial area can get pretty bad in the summer, but we keep the fans going and just push through the day’s tasks. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around, just a place where the work actually gets finished. When a transformer comes in for a fix or when we’re putting one together, we just look at the specs and get to it. There’s a lot of testing involved because you don’t want things sparking when they get plugged in later. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years, so they know the sounds the machines make when something isn't right. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We wear boots and heavy shirts and just try to keep the schedules moving along so nobody is left waiting too long for their equipment. Sometimes the coffee is cold and the paperwork is a mess, but the transformers get out the door. We just do what we can.
