Soyamassagro Farmer Producer Company Limited is in Agar Malwa which used to be part of Shajapur. We are over at Parkham Singh’s place in Ward 23 on Palroad in Vivekanand Colony. The name of the company tells you a bit about what we do since soy is a huge deal in this part of Madhya Pradesh. We started this because we wanted to get more value out of the soybean crops we spend all year growing. Vivekanand Colony is a decent enough place for our base but our real work happens out on the farms around Agar. Parkham Singh keeps the records and makes sure we are following all the rules they give us. We are just a group of farmers who got tired of the old way of doing things where you just sell for whatever price someone offers. Now we try to look at the bigger picture together. It’s not always smooth sailing. Sometimes we argue about which seeds are better or when the rain will actually start. But we always work it out. We don't have a lot of money for big signs or fancy brochures. We just talk to people face to face. It’s a simple operation run by people who have spent their whole lives in the mud and the sun. We are just trying to make the soy business work better for the actual growers.
