Shreesugam Farmer Producer Company Limited

We started Shreesugam Farmer Producer Company Limited because a bunch of us farmers around here needed a way to work together. It gets hard trying to handle everything alone, so we set things up at Subhash Gendalalbawdiya's place in Bawadiya. That’s where we do most of our talking and planning. It’s not a big fancy office or anything, just a spot where we can get the work done. Mostly we’re just focusing on what we grow in the fields and how to get it to people without too much trouble. Sometimes the weather doesn't help much, but having the group makes it a bit easier to deal with those things. We spend a lot of time just figuring out the day-to-day stuff. Subhash helps keep things organized at his house. It's really just a group of neighbors trying to make a living from the land. There isn't much more to it than that. We don't spend money on big signs or marketing, we just keep our heads down and try to grow good crops. If you come by Bawadiya, you'll probably see some of us hanging around there. We've been doing this for a while now and it feels better than working separately. Every day is a bit different depending on the season. Sometimes we are busy with seeds and other times we are just waiting for the rain. It's a simple life but it's what we know and we like it that way.
