We are located in Village-Sandhara, over in the Bhanpura area of Mandsaur. If you ask for Deep Chand’s place, people will show you the way. We are just a group of local farmers who decided to call ourselves Sandhara Kisan Unnati Farmer Producer Company Limited. The name sounds a bit formal, but we are just regular guys who spend our days in the sun. Farming in Mandsaur has its challenges. The ground can be stubborn and the rain is never quite as much as you want. We started this company because we were tired of being on our own when it came to buying seeds or selling what we grew. Now, we sit down in Sandhara and figure things out as a group. It’s a lot of talking over tea and looking at the sky. We don’t have a big fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a place to keep our tools and our books. Every season brings something new to worry about, whether it’s bugs or the market prices dropping for no reason. We just keep at it because it’s what our families have done for generations. It’s not a glamorous life, and your hands are always dirty, but there’s a certain peace in it. We just want to make sure the farmers in Sandhara can keep doing what they love without losing everything. It is just about getting by and helping each other when the harvest is thin. That is enough for us.
