Rukhmani Devi Public School

We are located out on the Bhopal-Narsinghgarh Road, right along NH-46. It’s a bit of a drive from the city center, but we like the space we have out here. The school building is quite large and you can’t miss it if you’re traveling that way. We have buses that bring in kids from all over Bhopal every morning. It gets quite hectic when they all arrive at once. The hallways are long and have that typical school smell of floor cleaner and old paper. We spend a lot of time in the classrooms, obviously. The desks are the standard kind, and the walls have some charts and drawings made by the students. Our playground is pretty open, so the wind can get a bit strong sometimes. The staff room is where we all gather for a quick lunch and some tea. It's a plain room with a big table and a lot of registers stacked up. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. It’s just a place where kids come to learn and we do our jobs. The gatekeeper knows most of the parents by face. Some days are very busy, especially when there’s a function or exams are starting. We just keep things moving along as best as we can. It’s a standard public school life for us. We check the water tanks every weekend to make sure they are full.
