Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas

Out in Ratibad, away from the main bustle of Bhopal city, is where you will find this Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. Since it is a residential type of setup, the atmosphere here is a bit different from a regular day school. The kids actually live here on the grounds, so the campus is their home for most of the year. There are dormitories, a large dining hall, and plenty of open space for them to walk around. The trees and greenery around here make it feel a bit more like the countryside than the city. We follow a very strict schedule because that is the only way to keep things organized with so many students staying on site. The morning starts very early with some light exercise, then breakfast, and then the usual classes. It is a lot of management work—everything from the laundry services to the kitchen food supplies needs to be tracked every day. The buildings are sturdy and strong, but they definitely show their age in some spots. We have got some cracks in the pavement and the paint is peeling on some of the window frames. It is a practical, no-nonsense place to be. We focus on the daily routine and making sure the students have what they need for their studies and their living quarters. Being in the 462002 area, we are close enough to the main city if we need something, but far enough away that it stays quiet at night.
