Pouni Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based out in Kharal, near Khairal. You can find us through Gopal Dass, who is the son of Krishan Lal Jerri. We’ve been set up here for a while now. The whole idea was to get the farmers in Pouni and the surrounding spots to work as one. It’s a lot of work coordinating everyone, but we manage. Most of the time, we’re out looking at the crops or talking to people in the village. We don't have a big staff or a fancy office setup. It's just a few of us handling the paperwork and making sure things are moving. The weather is always on our minds since it decides how our year will go. We deal with whatever crops are in season. Sometimes it’s a good year, and sometimes it’s tough. We just take it as it comes. People around here are hardworking and don't expect things to be handed to them. We’re the same way. We keep our records in a simple office and meet whenever we need to make a decision. There’s no big hierarchy here. Everyone’s opinion matters because we’re all in this together. It’s a practical way to run things. If you’re passing through Jerri or Kharal, you’ll probably see some of us working. We aren't hard to find. It’s a small community and we’re proud to be part of it.
