Paras Sanchi Parlour

I run the Sanchi Parlour over at Shop No1 in the Shalimar area of Shahapura. It’s quite close to Shahapura Lake, which is a nice spot in Bhopal. I spend most of my day around milk crates and refrigerators. People stop by on their way to the lake or when they’re heading home to the Shalimar apartments. I sell milk, ghee, and those little cups of ice cream that kids like. The shop isn't very large, just enough room for the coolers and a small counter for me. Sometimes the delivery truck comes late, and I have to wait around on the pavement for it. I’ve got a small radio that keeps me company during the quiet hours in the afternoon. The breeze from the lake is nice sometimes, but the humidity can be a bit much. I’ve known some of my customers for years; they come in for their daily milk and we talk about the weather or the local news. I don’t use any fancy apps to track things, just a pen and a notepad. It’s a simple business, really. I just make sure the milk stays cold and the customers get their change back right. It's a peaceful enough life here in Shahapura. I usually close up early in the evening because the mosquitoes from the lake get a bit too much after dark. It’s been my life for a good while now and I’m used to the slow pace of it all, especially during the rainy season.
