Hair Affair

Sector-C-10 in Indrapuri is where we are located, and it is a pretty busy spot in Bhopal. Kuber Dairy is right near us, so you often see people carrying milk packets as they walk past. The shop is called Hair Affair and we have been here at this address for a while. The interior is simple with a few chairs and a table for the magazines. I spend my morning getting the scissors sharpened and making sure the towels are dry. It can get a bit dusty with the road right there, so I wipe the shelves down a lot. We have a small TV in the corner but the volume is usually kept low. People come in from the Indrapuri neighborhood for their regular cuts. It is a simple place where you don't have to act fancy. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a quick break. The lighting is just standard bulbs that get the job done. I like the way the shop feels when it is full of people talking. We don't use any heavy perfumes or smells, just the usual soap and water. The street outside is usually full of parked scooters. Working here is steady and we see the same faces every month. It is just a small local business trying to do things the right way without a lot of fuss. I usually lock up as the sun goes down over the dairy.
