Palak Hair Dressers

Palak Hair Dressers is Shop number 11 in Regal Home Gali. We are in the Khajuri Kalan area in Bhopal. Most people find us by looking for Krishna Nagar because we are quite close to that locality. It is a simple shop for hair cutting and grooming. We have been here since the building was fairly new. The Gali is mostly residential houses, so it stays a bit quiet during the afternoons. We get most of our work in the mornings and then late in the evening when people come back from their offices. I work here with my brother. We both learned the hair work from our uncle when we were younger. We don't have any fancy certificates on the wall, just our hands and our scissors. The shop has a small TV in the corner that we keep on for the news or a cricket match. It helps pass the time when there are no customers sitting in the chairs. We use standard chairs, the ones that tilt back a little for shaves and face massages. The floor is made of stone and it gets a bit cold in the winter months. We don't do anything flashy or expensive here. If someone wants a simple hair style, they come to us. We try to be honest about how long the wait will be if we are busy. Khajuri Kalan is growing fast, so we see new people every week now. It keeps things interesting.
