New Sahayadri Farmer Producer Company Limited is run out of Barhai. You can find us at Vimal Madan Pagore’s place, number 74. It’s a local operation, nothing too fancy. We started this because we felt that the farmers in our area needed a way to stick together. Most of us are busy in the fields during the day, so the office work usually happens in the evenings or early mornings. We handle the stuff that’s hard to do alone, like buying big amounts of supplies or finding trucks to move the produce to the city. Barhai is a small enough place where word gets around fast, so we try to do things right by everyone. We don’t have a big staff with suits and ties. We’re usually in our regular clothes, maybe with a bit of dirt on our boots. It’s honest work. Sometimes the weather is against us, and sometimes the prices are, but having the company helps us stay afloat when things get tough. We don't have any scripted mission statements or anything like that. We just want to get through the season and hopefully have a bit left over for the next one. We’re just local folks doing our best with what we’ve got.
