Naivaidyam

We’ve been here at Shop 153 in Zone 2 for quite a while now. If you know Maharana Pratap Nagar, you know it’s always busy with people heading to work or running errands. Our place isn't anything fancy, just a regular spot where we try to get things right every morning. We start early, usually before the sun is fully up, getting the kitchen ready and making sure the floors are swept. Some of the guys have been working here for years, so we’ve got a bit of a rhythm going. It’s noisy outside with the traffic, but inside we just focus on the cooking. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. People just sort of find us or they’ve been coming since we opened. Sometimes the chairs might wobble a bit or the fan makes a clicking sound, but that’s just how it is. We try to keep the food simple, the way we’d eat at home. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, especially when the Bhopal heat kicks in during the summer months. But we like seeing the familiar faces come through the door. Usually, it’s the same crowd around lunchtime, people from the nearby offices looking for a quick bite. We don’t have any grand plans to change things up too much. We just want to keep the doors open and keep doing what we know. It's a living, and we're glad to be part of the neighborhood.
