Meeras Beauty Parlour & Spa

Our place, Meeras Beauty Parlour & Spa, sits at 346 in Durgesh Vihar Colony along J K Road. It is quite close to Raj Homes, so we get a lot of people from the residential buildings around here. Bhopal can be very calm in this area during the mornings. I usually open up around ten, once the household chores are done. The shop has a specific smell of sandalwood and shampoo that I’ve grown used to over the years. It is a spa too, so I have a small partitioned area at the back with a bed for massages and facials. The curtains are a bit faded from the sunlight coming through the front window, but they still do the job of giving some privacy. I’ve got a helper who comes in on busy days, usually weekends. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after each person because the hair just goes everywhere. The floor is white tile, so every little bit shows up. Sometimes the neighbors pop in just to say hello even if they don’t need anything done. I keep a few old magazines on the table for people to look at while they wait. It’s not a fancy corporate place at all. It’s just me and my tools, trying to make a living in this part of town. I hope the water heater holds up this winter as it has been acting up lately.
