If you go to Jhanda Chowk and look for house number 478, that’s where we run Kundeshwar Millet Farmers Producer Company Limited. Millets are what we know best. Around here, the soil is right for it, and it’s what our families have grown for generations. We decided to make it official with a company so we could help the local growers get their crops to market without so many middle-men taking a cut. It’s a busy spot at the chowk, and there’s always something happening right outside our door. Inside, it’s mostly stacks of ledgers and samples of grain. We aren't corporate people with degrees in business; we’re just folks who know how to grow millet. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit confusing, but we manage to sort it out eventually. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who take turns staying at the office while the others are out at the farms. People stop by all the time to ask about prices or just to complain about the heat. It’s a social place as much as it is a business. We don't do anything fancy with our packaging or marketing. We just focus on the quality of the grain itself. If the millet is good, people will buy it. That’s our basic logic. It’s worked for us so far, and we don't see any reason to change how we do things now.
