Kulha Krishi Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are located over in Kulhabasoda, which is a part of the Vidisha district. Kamal Singh Raghuwanshi is the main person who looks after things for Kulha Krishi Farmer Producer Company Limited. We mostly deal with the regular, everyday stuff that comes with running a farm group. It’s a lot of standing around in the hot sun and talking about how the crops are growing. We don’t have a fancy office building at all. Most of our meetings just happen on a porch or near the old storage sheds. We put this company together so we could have a bit more of a say in how our produce is sold to the traders. Farming is a tough life, especially when you are trying to manage on your own. Here, we try to share that burden. We deal with the grain and whatever else happens to be growing that particular season. Some years turn out much better than others. When the pests show up, everyone gets pretty stressed out. We aren't trying to be some big national brand that everyone knows. We are just farmers from this local area who know each other’s names and families. We keep our records in a very simple way. You might find us arguing about the best time to start planting or how much the local mandi is paying today. It’s a real life, with mud on our boots. We just do what we can to make sure the work keeps moving.
