Kohanbhuraj Farmer Producer Company Limited is run out of Bamori, specifically over at Gajannand Baniyai’s place in Fatehgarh Guna. We are a bunch of local farmers from the Guna district who decided to stop doing everything separately. Farming in this part of Madhya Pradesh can be tough when you’re on your own, especially when it comes to the business side of things. We use the office at Gajannand’s to handle the records and plan out our seasons. Most of our time is spent out on the land, though. We’re not the type to sit behind desks all day. We’re more comfortable out in the fields seeing how the crops are coming along. This company is just our way of making sure we have a collective voice when we sell our produce. We don’t have a lot of big machines or fancy equipment, just our hands and what we’ve learned from our parents about the land. It’s a very local thing, and most of the people involved have lived in the 473105 area their whole lives. We try to keep things honest and straightforward. If there’s a problem with the harvest, we talk about it and try to fix it together. It’s just a practical setup for us to manage our farming better and keep the local community going. It’s hard work but someone has to do it.
