Khushali Artisan Handicraft Producer Company Limited

Our main workshop is located at Plot Number 4, right in front of the SOS in Khajuri Kalan, Bhopal. We call ourselves Khushali, and we focus on handicrafts and the local people who make them. Bhopal is a pretty big city, but our little corner in Khajuri Kalan is where the real work happens every day. We aren't a factory with giant machines running all night. Instead, it’s just a bunch of people using their hands and simple tools to create things from scratch. We started this because the artisans around here needed a better way to organize themselves and sell their work. It gets messy in the shop sometimes, with scrap materials piled up in the corners and several different projects going on at the same time. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of the time, the place is just filled with the smell of sawdust or fabric and the sound of people talking while they work. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the country. We just want to make sure the folks making these handicrafts get a fair deal for their time. It’s hard on the hands, and sometimes we get tired of the same old problems, but there’s a lot of pride in seeing something finished. We spend our afternoons figuring out where to send the boxes and making sure we have enough supplies for tomorrow. It is a simple life for us.
