You can find Khurai Farmer Producer Company Limited over at Dukan No 43 in the Shivaji Ward. It’s right there by the Nagar Palika. We took that small shop space to have a central place for our farming group to meet up. It’s not very big, but it’s enough for what we need. We are a bunch of local farmers who live and work around Khurai. Life out here revolves around the seasons and what the earth gives us. We decided to form this company because the market can be tough on a single farmer. By working together, we can share tools and maybe get a slightly better price for our grain. It’s a lot of work and most of us are tired by the end of the day. There is always something to fix, whether it’s a pump or a fence. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or things like that. We just want to keep our farms running and maybe help our neighbors a bit. The shop in Shivaji Ward is usually where you’ll find one of us sitting around talking about the latest crop news. It’s a humble place, but it works for us. We deal with all kinds of stuff related to the land. Some years are better than others, that's just farming.
