Over in Raghunathpur, in the Ambah part of Morena, we set up Jaibhole Baba Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited. Lakhan Singh is the one who helps keep us organized at his place. Morena is a place where people know the value of hard work, and that is exactly what we do every single day. We are just a group of local farmers who decided to pool our resources. Farming can be a bit of a gamble sometimes, especially with the way the weather and the markets are these days. By sticking together, we feel a bit more secure. We aren't trying to change the world or anything, we just want to make sure we can keep farming our land and taking care of our families. We don't have any big marketing budgets or fancy brochures. Most of our news travels by word of mouth when we meet up in the village or at the local tea stall. We talk about the mustard crops or whatever else is in season and figure out how to help each other get the best results. It’s a down-to-earth way of doing business. We trust each other because we’ve been neighbors for a long time. There isn't any corporate talk here, just plain English about things that matter to people who work the soil. We are just trying to make a living together.
