Harshidhi Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are a group of women farmers from the Tarana area in Ujjain. Our office is on Tobrikheda Road in Guthlai. It’s a place where we all come together to manage our crops and our business. Usually, farming is seen as a man’s job, but we’ve been doing the work for years, so we decided to start our own company. It helps us have more of a say in how things are sold and what prices we get. We handle everything ourselves, from the seeds to the selling. The office is often loud with everyone talking at once, especially during harvest time when things get really busy. We try to help each other out with everything, not just the farming but also the paperwork and the banking, which can be pretty intimidating if you’re doing it alone. We aren’t experts in business, but we know our land and we know how to work hard. Living in Ujjain, we follow the seasons and do our best with what the weather gives us. Some years are better than others, of course. We just want to make sure the women in our village have a bit more security and can contribute to their families' income. It’s a simple goal, and we’re taking it one step at a time. If you pass by Guthlai, you’ll likely see some of us working at the office or out in the nearby fields, just doing what needs to be done to keep things running.
