Halbal Agri Farmers Producer Company Limited is located way out in the Baihar tehsil. You have to head towards the R.D. Chouk in the Garhi post area to find us. We are based at Madan Lal’s house; he’s the son of Nilaji Rahangdale. It’s a bit of a journey if you’re coming from the bigger towns, but this is where the farming actually happens, so it makes sense for us to be here. We are a group of local farmers who decided to pool our resources. The village of Gram Post Garhi is where we grew up, and we know everyone around these parts. Our office is just a part of the house where we keep the ledgers and have our meetings. We talk a lot about the crops, the cattle, and the local market in Baihar. It’s not always easy work, and sometimes we stay up late trying to make the numbers add up. But it’s better than trying to do everything alone. People stop by all the time to ask about what we’re doing or to join the company. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that; news mostly travels by word of mouth around the Chouk. We just want to make sure that the people working the fields in this part of the country are getting a fair deal. It’s a practical way to live, and we’re happy to be doing it together in our own village where we belong.
