Fing Men

Fing Men is located at 62, Rani Bai Colony in Bhopal. It’s a straightforward gents' place where we mostly handle haircuts and shaves. The colony is a quiet residential area for the most part, so we don’t get a ton of random walk-ins, it’s mostly the same guys from the neighborhood coming back every two or three weeks. The shop is on the ground floor, and I usually keep the door open to let some air in unless it’s really dusty outside. We have the basic black barber chairs that have been here since we opened. They aren't the newest models, but they are comfortable enough for a twenty-minute cut. I spend a lot of my time sharpening the razors and cleaning the clippers. There’s a small bench for people to wait on, and usually there’s a newspaper or two lying around that’s a few days old. We don’t go for anything fancy like face massages with steam machines or anything; it’s just a spray bottle of water and a sharp pair of scissors. Sometimes the guys stay after their haircut just to talk about the cricket scores or local news. It’s a simple life running a shop in Rani Bai Colony. We open up early in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. It’s not a big business, just a regular part of the street.
