This is Bichhiya Progressive Farmer Producer Company Limited. We are located in Village Bhawamal Bichhiya, over in the Mandla district. You can find us by looking for Ravi Shankar Kartikey. We are a group of farmers from around the 481998 area in Madhya Pradesh. We decided to call ourselves progressive because we are trying to find better ways to handle our farming and selling, but we are still very much tied to the land. It’s a quiet life in Mandla, mostly spent outdoors. We aren't corporate types. Most of us have calluses on our hands and mud on our boots. We started this company to give the local farmers a bit more of a voice. It’s tough out here sometimes, especially when the weather doesn't do what you expect it to. We don't have any fancy mission statements. We just want to grow our crops and get them to the market without too much trouble. Our office is just a basic room where we keep our records and talk about the next season. We are honest people doing honest work. There is a lot of talk about agriculture these days, but for us, it’s just the daily grind of planting and harvesting. We take it one day at a time and try to help each other out when things get difficult. That is the whole reason we formed this group. We are just local producers trying to do right by our community.
