Bhumkaveer Farmer Producer Company Limited is mostly run from where Rajesh stays. He is the son of Jayshankar Suryawanshi and lives in Amarwara. This whole thing started because we wanted to have more say in how our crops are sold. It’s a common story around here. Amarwara is a place where people know each other, so it made sense to start something local. We call ourselves Bhumkaveer because it feels right for what we do on the land. We don't have a corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It's just a house where we keep our records and meet up. Rajesh handles a lot of the coordination. Sometimes it’s a bit disorganized when everyone shows up at once, but we get through it eventually. We focus on the practical side of farming. There’s no point in using big words when simple ones do the trick. We spend our mornings in the fields and our afternoons dealing with the business side of things. It’s a lot of responsibility but we enjoy the independence it gives us. Most of us have been farming since we were kids, so this just feels like the next step in our lives. We don't promise anything we can't do. We just work and see what the harvest brings. It’s a tough job but we are used to it. We keep moving forward no matter what.
