Bhopal Girls School

Down in Panchwati Colony, near the Airport Road in Lalghati, you will find the Bhopal Girls School. It is a familiar spot for everyone living in this part of Bhopal. The school is right there in the colony, so we see the neighbors walking their dogs every morning. The girls arrive in their uniforms, and the gate gets pretty crowded for about twenty minutes. We have a playground that has seen better days, but the kids do not seem to mind. They still run around like crazy during the break. The classrooms are basic. We have desks, chairs, and fans that hum all day long. In the summer, it gets quite warm, but we manage. We are not one of those elite schools with a swimming pool or a horse stable. We are a place for local families to send their daughters. The teachers are mostly women from the surrounding areas who have been with us for years. We know each other's names and whose kid is having a birthday. It is a community effort to keep things running. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when the monsoon hits hard, and we put out buckets. It is just part of owning a building. We do not promise anyone that we will turn their kids into geniuses. We just provide a place for them to learn and grow up safely. It is a simple school on a normal road in Bhopal.
