Ballaar Baba Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited is located at the Azewka Mison Sankul. If you happen to be in Bijadandi, you probably already know where that building is. We are up here in Mandla, 481666. This is basically a group of women farmers who wanted to do something for themselves instead of relying on others. We meet up at the Sankul to talk about the different crops and how we are going to get things to the market. It’s a very simple arrangement we have going on. The building itself isn't anything special to look at, but it serves our purpose well enough for now. We have some chairs and a few sturdy tables where we sit and write down all our records by hand. Working in Mandla means we are right in the middle of the farming area. We see the weather changing outside and we know exactly when the harvest is coming. It’s not a corporate job with suits or ties. We wear our everyday clothes and talk like neighbors because that is exactly what we are. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside on the steps and keep talking. We deal with the local farmers and try to keep things moving forward. There is always someone coming by with a question or some news about the village. We handle all the paperwork for the producer company right here.
