Anand Saloon

If you ever find yourself near the bus stand in Bhopal, you’ll probably pass by Indra Market. That’s where we are, at number 67 on the main road. Anand Saloon isn’t a very big place, but it’s always got someone sitting in the chair. Being right by Jawahar Chowk means we get a lot of travelers who just need a quick shave before they head out on their next bus. It’s a noisy spot with all the buses and rickshaws going by, but we don't mind it much. We have a few old mirrors and some basic tools that have served us well over the years. We open up early in the morning, usually before the sun is fully up, to catch the first crowd of the day. It’s a simple setup, nothing like those modern salons you see in the malls. We just do haircuts and shaves the way they’ve always been done. The floor is covered in hair by the end of the day, and we spend a lot of time sweeping it up. Most of our customers are working men who just want a decent cut without paying too much. We know most of the shopkeepers around here, so there’s always someone stopping by to borrow a match or just to say hello. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know. We just take one customer at a time and keep things moving along nicely.
