Achharatit Farmer Producer Company Limited is mostly run out of Paniyara, near Mansoor Ganj Khurd. If you are looking for us, we are over at Anirudh’s place. It isn't a big operation with a lobby or signs. Most days, you just see a couple of motorbikes parked outside and a few of us sitting inside trying to make sense of the new government rules for farmers. We spend a lot of time on the phone or walking out to the fields to see how the wheat or the vegetables are coming along. The weather hasn't been very kind lately, so there is a lot of talk about water and how to keep the pests away without spending too much money. We are just local people who decided it was better to work together than to try and do everything alone. It gets a bit crowded in the room when more than three or four people show up at once, especially when we have bags of samples sitting on the floor. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just move the chairs outside to catch whatever breeze there is. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just some basic tools and our notebooks where we write down who brought what. It’s practical work, and we just take it one day at a time here in the village. It is quiet in Mansoor Ganj Khurd, which suits us just fine.
