In the village of Tola Panchbirampur, life revolves around the land. We set up Birampur Jaivik Producer Company Limited right in the house of Dashrath Singh. Being in the Koilwar block means we are surrounded by fields and hard-working families. We chose to focus on the organic side of things because we saw how the soil was changing over the years. It is a slow process, turning back to the old ways of doing things, but it feels right for our community. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. Mostly, we just sit on the porch at Dashrath’s place and figure out who needs what for the next planting season. The villagers here are practical people. They don't care much for big talk. They just want to know if the crop will be healthy and if they can feed their kids. We help with the paperwork and the certifications that come with being a producer company. It is a lot of back and forth with the block offices, but someone has to do it. The days are long, especially when the heat hits Koilwar in the summer. We are just a group of locals trying to keep the earth clean and the farmers happy. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun sets over the Tola. We are not a big fancy office, just people who understand the dirt and the seasons here.
