Bhojpur Farmers Producer Company Limited

Over in the Piro block, specifically in the village of Pachmantola, is where we work. We’re based at Rabindra Singh’s place in the Pachman Panch Narayanpur area. This is Bhojpur district, so farming is really the main thing everyone does here. We started this producer company because we felt that working as a group was the only way to deal with the buyers and the suppliers. It’s a very grounded business. We don’t have a website or any marketing materials. We just have our names and our reputation in the village. Most of our meetings happen under a tree or in the small room we use for our files. We talk about things like the price of seeds and which crops are looking good this year. It’s a lot of physical work and a lot of waiting for the right weather. People in Pachmantola are hardworking, and we try to reflect that in how we run things. There is no corporate polish here; if you come to visit, you’ll probably find us in our everyday clothes covered in a bit of dust. We manage the logistics of getting the harvest from the fields to the market, which is always a bit of a challenge around here. But we’ve lived here our whole lives, so we know how to navigate the local situation. It’s just us, doing our part for the farming community in Bhojpur as best as we can.
